A couple of

During the very cold weather last month my 1995 Saab 2.3 auto convertible had some issues. Check Water Coolant level was displayed on SID and sure enough the level was low. Topped up and the water was pretty much coming back out from under the engine somewhere. As the car isnt used much, I did nothing about it until last weekend, and topped up, and lo and behold it held the fluid? Drove the car about 15 miles and still all OK. As a precuation, as there may be a leak, put in radweld and ran the engine for 20 mins as per instructions. After this I noticed the level to be the same, but the radiator didnt get at all warm and hence the radiator fan didnt come on either? The temp gauge also doesnt move up much (and never really did, but maybe a little more than now), but the heater is blowing plenty of hot air. HAvent tried driving for a distance since, but have started it fine a few times... nothing sounds untoward.

Couple with this the soft top will not not rise.. SID displays check soft top. I did try a few times and eventually the rear lifted and then when the from was about to lift the message displauyed again. The hood went back down fine and then wouldnt lift again. I didnt want to try again as it was starting to rain...

Anyone have any ideas on either of these problems... The car was CAT C write off last year (for a bumper ripped off by a coach when parked.. hardly a CAT C but thats what they did), so it maybe time to get shot of, but deep down I know it been a great car, and if there are some simple (ish) and cheap (ish) fixes, I may try a resurrection.

All help gratefully recieved....

Quick update - the back of the roof opens and its at the point that the tonneua cover should lift where the message pops up... car feels damp inside due to lack of use (dont know if this could cause a "contact" type issue). Maybe the tonneua cover latch is sticking???
