Hi, I'm new to this board but would be very grateful for any help.
My Saab 9000 LPT auto(1994) yesterday suddenly lost all power while on the move. The chap from the RAC said that there was no spark and that it could be a "power pack" failure. Is this problem correctable and is it likely to cost a lot? What causes this?
Thanks in advance.

i assume r.a.c. man was refering to direct injection module(red bit on top of rocker cover) i have had this problem also, they tend to pack in after 120,000mls.you will have to replace unit(130 quid, euro car parts) but first remove di unit and check for brown marks on spark plugs, cracks on di unit etc.did car restart after 5 mins or so/this is the way mine went, some just missfire, others pack in.....ive had both..good luck zep.

Thanks to everyone. The above information was truly helpful.
Update -: I bought a unit locally and fitted it myself- very easy just four bolts. Took less than 5 minutes.
Many thanks to everyone.
