Has anyone ever ordered/used any bits from these people www.saabperformanceparts.com

or any other American/European Saab specialist?

I ask because they have a DI/APC EPROM upgrade for my 9000T16 for $350 which is about £220. Allowing for shipping this sounds good for 30-40hp increase. Are Speedparts going to be competitive when they are available from a UK supplier (my Swedish is not that great but they have lots of nice kit on their website www.speedparts.se)

I know there are UK suppliers, I am just interested to know if any one has had things shipped from abroard, and were they any good? I can't afford any yet so it is all academic

I don't think you could compare the prices as the Speedparts upgrades start at +76bhp but if you want less bhp for less money

I believe under the agreement with speedparts, country specfic importers cannot ship outside thier own 'boundries' so you wouldn't be able to purchase the upgrade from the USA...
Elkparts are the UK agents for speedparts, I'd recommend you ask them for a quote, or look thorught the speedparts site and divide the krona price by 14.6 to achieve a rough price in £££'s

The upgrade is not a Speedparts one in this case, but Swedish Dynamics. Don't know if they are the same?

Speedparts upgrades do not start at +76bhp. Mine is the 3rd out of 4 staged upgrades and that gives another +58 according to Speedparts stats. If you want to buy Speedparts, go to Elk as they will charge the same and you can use their exchange facility on the ecu, which means that you won't be without you car.

Right I may be wrong but if you check Liams profile it states his car is a 2.0 9000 and from my information the upgrades start at +76bhp.Are you sure you are not thinking of the 2.3 upgrades

For Elkparts, you might like to try the yellow link box at the top of the page...

I have tried emailing Swedish dynamics in the past asking for prices indicating a firm intention to purchase but received no response. In my experience many US companies are simply not interested in selling overseas... you may have better luck!

liam (spelling!) have you actually asked them? what did they say? i thought you said you had no money to spend, so your question is rather academic isn't it?

i am afraid i have no knowledge of swedish dynamics but i suspect the same as mark.

Have seen Elkparts site already thanks Mark, but I can't see any Speedparts stuff on it, or am I missing something? Suppose I could always learn Swedish

Shame if the US companies don't sell here, they seem to have some good bits available.

[edit] As for the money issue, I have a Mini and a camper van for sale at the moment. Early next year I will have about £1500 spare for some upgrades, but I am doing my research early, so I get the most bang for my buck.

pyronerd and others are from good'ol USA. Maybe when the time is right they could obtain the parts for you, if they were willing.

Liam the UK website with the prices and specs is on it's way soon,As for the prices they are in line with others and in most cases cheaper from what I've seen I'm sure by the time your ready the site will be online and then you can make your own judgements.Incidentally I have no interest in the UK supplier but will recommend them to follow Saab enthusiasts just on the grounds of there prices/service and aftersales service.
