Ok, my MY99 9-5 (2.0) is in need of some new pads. I'd like something that's a little more fade resistant than the standard saab pads, but not so high temp that it:
1) won't work cold
2) will eat the discs in 5 mins
3) will run so hot the discs warp.

Be nice if it wasn't *too* dusty too (some peeps want everything eh!)

Any recomendations?

Thanks.

Can't speak for the 9-5, but on the 9000 I've found that M1144 (such as Mintex C-Tech) work very well. Mine were sharper than standard when cold and gave more bite under all conditions. I had no disc problems, even when I overheated them on the Abbott track day. On the track, it took a lot more to fade them than standard pads.

I didn't find them any more dusty than the standard pads, although that's not saying much.

I also tried GreenStuff, specifically for less dust. Initially results were good, but after about 1000 miles, they were as dusty as standard pads (perhaps more so), had become very noisy (a loud humming when braking, even on plain discs) and were terribly inconsistent in their performance. Cold performance had become pathetic.

After that fiasco, I decided I didn't mind a bit of brake dust after all...
