Hi

I've had a search but can't find what I'm looking for. I've developed an idling problem, it starts fine but will start to lose revs after about 15s falling to around 200 rpm before catching and revving to 1200 rpm. When warm the revs stay at 1200 rpm. Along with this there's a hiss behind the dashboard. I'm assuming there is a vacuum pipe off somewhere, I've looked in the engine bay and nothing seems amiss, is there a vacuum pipe behind the dashboard?

There is a vacuum pipe connected to either a Turbo gauge, or a Vacuum 'Economy' gauge. It's not uncommon for this rubber pipe to perish & split , thus causing a leak, and making the hissing noise you can hear.

There is plenty of vacuum pipe behind the dash

Uusally that's the heater system ... sure it wasn't there before this new symptom

The new symptom sounds like the idle control valve wants cleaning.

Is your dashboard sitting proud ?
