I have always used octane boosters on and off in the past, usually either Aldon's or STP's

Today, I thought I would try something a little different, picked up a can of pro blend nitro power, which was pretty expensive (£19)

Before I go using it, has anyone else tried this ? and did it have any effect ?

Not familiar with that brand. However I recently did a test with Torco Accellerator. Rather than a simple octane booster, it significantly alters your octane rating. Not "7 points", but "5-10 octane numbers". I did a test with several videos showing direct evidence of a boost increase, and resistance to heat soak using the stuff in the Viggen. It also helped me get that awesome 0-100 time despite 85 degree California heat.

No idea if you can buy Torco in europe, but if pro-blend is similar I'd give it a go.

Might check out my thread on tuning talk for some detonation (and thus octane) related info.

Adrian,

I have seen your feature on the torco octane booster, very interesting

The stuff I mentioned is from the US of A

It claims to increase the octane rating by 7-14 points and various other claims too, like up to 25bhp extra (doesnt say what this was measured on though!)

Ill give it a whirl next time I fill up and report back
