My fuel pump is making a graunchy, squealing noise and I suspect is on the way out . Before I attack it with a big hammer is it possible to strip and clean it, or do I need a new one?

If so where is a cheap supplier, ECP have none in stock at £199

try parts-asap in Bristol (0117 9406 151 ). I have had a few parts off them in the past and they have given good service ( Ask for Andy ).

If they haven't got one then I'm afraid you may
have to bite the bullet. My pump went a while ago
and I had to purchase one from a Saab Dealer .
Cost was £200. Had it fitted by a specialist and total bill ( inc vat ) was approx £300. Good luck
with it.

Liam, hi
it should be poss on your pump unit to replace just the pump on your vehicle as long as its a WALBRO pump & not the BOSCH unit. They are not to tricky to get to once the complete is out,but i did have to heat a rubber seal to get it over the top of the pump (bit with the elec connections).
BEWARE tho, there are 2x different size hose connections (6mm & 8mm),put one in a car 3yrs ago & its still working.
got mine from germ & swedish cost about £60+ vat,
and yes i'll try anything to save money
happy hunting
