Hi all,

For some time now I have been looking for a good reliable motor. I have now settled on a 900. Infact I cannot believe I did not get one before.

I have read the buying guide and my budget is around £2000.

Firstly what would be the best model? I am not too fussed about top end performance. I will be mainly doing motorway miles some fuel economy would be more of priority.

Secondly are there any specialists dealers in the midlands area. I am ready tp purchase but am worried I will get a dud and so am happy to pay some premium for a quality moror.

Also seen one in the paper recently looking in perfect condition although I didnt drive it or inspect it thoroughly, it had done 112K and was asking £1500. I am not exactly sure of the model but I know it was a 2.3.

Assuming its got FSH would this be in the right ballpark.

Any help would be appreciated.

You say you are looking for a 900. Is this so? or is it a typo? I ask because you've posted in the 9000 forum.

Once we've cleared this up, I expect someone will be along to give you some advice

As he mentions a 2.3 I'd assume 9000, as NG900 wouldn't be that cheap yet, are they. £1500 doesn't sound too bad, but give us some more info on the car, year, Full pressure or Light pressure etc.

You really need to confirm if it's a 900 or a 9000 your after. If it's a 900, I'll move the topic to the 900 board (please let us know if it'll be the "classic" 900 or the NG900 (1994 onwards).

There are quite a few specialists in the Midlands area - which part of the Midlands are you in?
