Hello all,
Just a few quick questions. Just purchased my first Saab, a 9000CD turbo. I love the car, it is a just a $1900 beater but surpzingingly in good shape... Here are the questions:

1)Can someone point me to a good list serve or discussion area (is this the best one in your opinions?) or a FAQ so I don't have to bother you all with these questions?

2) The blower motor isn't working and I'm planning on replacing it. Would someone be willing to outline the basic overall process so I'm not ripping the whole dash apart and making a 6 hour job a 22 hour job. Or, is there a web site out there with directions? TIA!

As far as the blower motor (interior fan motor) goes, mine wasn't working at all. My specialist drilled a small hole into it, blasted inside with compressed air to clean out all the [expletive deleted] - now works fine. Would have cost a fortune to replace as bits of the air con system have to come out!

If the fan is working on setting 4 only, this could be the rheostat. Could be a fuse too.

Try the search utility on this board, it is pretty quick.

Loads of good discussion areas on the net - most of which will be included in the thread link above. I like this one the best (though I am biased!) TSN Saabnet is a big US board, though I personally aren't keen on the format of the posts - loads of info though.

Yep, agree with Kevin.
This site is "user friendly", and is catagorised into 9000 tech stuff, performance section, and also non-tech chat, and even non-saab chat. Im sure you have already had a look round site though.
Dont expect to be given and easy ride though if you bring up certain subjects, although there is tons of good advice and humour on site, we can be a bit scathing about some things
Also, there are no taboo site you can discuss, e.g; saabnet, the more sites to help and assist the better in our view, but do spend a bit of time on this one....
