What, in the preference of you folks here, is probably the one best performance upgrade for the money for a MY95 2.3 LPT? I've considered an ECU upgrade, exhause modifications and/or adding a dump valve. I don't believe that my car has an intercooler.

ECU upgrade with a BPC valve will completely transform the car's performance. A motorsport dump valve will make just about no difference if your current valve is working properly. A full exhaust system will probably cost nearly the same as an ECU upgrade but won't give anything like the same improvement - you'd get a bit better response from the turbo and perhaps a few hp extra at the top end. while the ECU will give you loads more torque over the RPM range and perhaps 40 or 50 hp extra at the top end.

As far as I can tell, all 2.3 LPTs had an intercooler but no BPC valve, just like all '96-on 2.0LPTs.
