I recently bought a 9000 cse 2.3 turbo (225 hp engine), which had effortless acceleration.
But for the last few weeks I have noticed the Saab struggle to reach 50mph. I have tried clearing the ECU's memory by disconnecting the battery earth lead (left over night), but to no avail.
Otherwise the Saab runs well and is surprisingly good on fuel (best so far of 37mpg).
Help on this problem from fellow Saab owners would be appreciated.

Now this is just what I have read here, but it could be the boost control apc thingy??? (other experts i am sure will say if this is the case or not). Its a black box thing that sits by the top of the rad and as far as I am aware it controls the boost.

Just a thought, lets see what the experts say........

Could be mechanical. Feel under the turbo (when cold!!) There is a little shaft that operates the turbo wastegate. The splitpin that holds the linkage together can rot and fall out and the shaft drops off rod that it mates with. Performance is then milk-float like. My Aero lost it while towing a caravan. A phone call to my Saab specialist told my what to look for and I did a temp repair using a paper clip. That was last Easter- must get it fixed properly!!

WindyH you were right!
The splitpin that secures the wastegate linkage was missing.
Unfortunately the rod with the hole for the splitpin was blocked- probably the remnants of the old pin.
I was unable to clear the hole, so have booked the beast into my local indy- WMSS.
Thankyou gentlemen for your help.

The TD04 fitted to the B234R engine uses an "R" clip. I seem to remember there is also a groove for a circlip, though.
