I have now a large hole in my back box and co incidentally have also experienced a loss in boost pressure

The exhaust has a 3" downpipe, no intermediate pipes, 3" system to a custom back box.

Could this be linked ? or should I now also be looking at leaks in hoses etc ?

Cheers

I wouldn't expect a hole in the back box, unless the associated failure has caused a significant blockage, to cause a noticable loss in boost pressure so yes, I'd start looking for missing/leaky hoses/actuator problems.

At the end of last year I lost all boost due to box collapsing inside - I assume! Tried all the usual and it wasn't until I changed both rear boxes that boost returned. Nothing externally to give any clue there was a problem. If all else fails it might be worth a quick check/blip around the block with box removed and ear defebnders on.
Saab dealer suggested the problem after they had had the car for a day and found nothing wrong.
