Hi, I appreciate any help you guys can provide,

I am getting a difficult (prolonged cranking) start up each time I try when the engine has been sitting for more than a couple of hours. It also smells far too rich and I often get a dirty great puff of black smoke.

I have cleaned air filters, replaced ignition cables, plugs, rotor and distributor cap just to be on the safe side. Next I would like to check to see if a cold start procedure is operating when it shouldn't be and over fueling the system however I can not find a clear guide how to do this for the LH-Jetronic system. So how can I tell if the cold start is malfunctioning?

Any other ideas are also very welcome.

Regards,

Simon
