Hello, i am getting a saab soon but it has only got 1 key fob. Now the closest dealership has quoted 200 quid for a key fob, not sure yet as to what they charge for just coding. I was wondering if the cheap ones off ebay are worth it? I did ask a mobile guy about coding but they wont code what they dont supply and that 170 quid so anyone got any advice on best thing to do.

I'd heard that they'll programme themselves by just leaving them in the ignition switch for 10-min, but I may be wrong/ confused. Probably better to wait for some definitive knowledge. I'm planning to use an ebay refresh kit as my second key is pretty worn with tears around the buttons, but this will use the existing internal board.

You require a virgin fob with virgin internals and chip
The chip cannot be over written it's a one shot only .
So from what I can remember a few years ago they were doing a fob plus programming for about £150 on the Saab service club website free to join .
So about £200 sound right .
If a fob is worn or tattered then I use a man on eBay where I send him my knocked key and he refurbished it and send it back within 24 hours .
Once back you just stuck in the ism for 10 seconds to re-sync it
