Lovely car, well chuffed (seeing as I am only 20).....whats the flutterey sort of noise when I come of the accelerator? Do diesels have wastegates rather than dumpvalves as standard?? How can I make that sound louder!!!

Cheers Guys...

It's quite possibly the dump-valve making that noise. The dump-valve operates when you close the throttle. This happens because the charge needs to escape. If the throttle is shut then the turbo can't push air into the intake so something has to give.

The turbo setup on diesel's tend to be quite different to the petrol ones and I only really know about the c900.

Does anyone know if the Saab diesels use vairable intake collars? (i.e. where the diameter of the jet fired into the turbine adjusts depending on the engine revs.)
