My 9000 16v Turbo (1990 - 158K) normally runs fine, but recently, when it has only had a few short town runs and not had chance to stretch its' legs, starts to misfire badly and fuel consumption rockets. Give it a run for 5 miles or more with plenty of boost, and it comes back ok. Have changed the obvious; DI Unit, but still the same.
Anyone got any clues where to look next - injectors, Air Mass Meter ?
Thanks.

Thanks Zeppelin, as soon as I get chance I will look at that (when I've worked out how to disconnect it) - right now car is fine, having had reasonable runs and fuel consumption is back to 30.

brian, just pull the elec.connector off then reconnect.the icv is cylindrical and sits on top of i/manifold/unless your car has the twin i/manifold in which case it is under the top part, still easy to access.
