Not sure if anybody can help, but have seen various leather interiors for sale from a 91 carly (I think). Does anybody know about interior compatibility for a 96 CS.

Have seen other earlier model leather interiors with electrically adjustable seats, etc from a 1991 9000 SE - what sort of compatabilities are there (would the electrics be in place for me to plug straight in and do the fixings line up?)

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Pete

spoke to DeeVee last night and he seemed to be of the opinion that front seats ar ethe same, but rear seats different from CS/CSE to CD. Guess I need to keep an eye out for CS or CSE interiors from now on. Thanks Dave.

I am sure that is right cos' the CS models have the 60-40 split rear seats which the CD models don't. So quite certain about incompatibilities there. Front seats, I am not sure. They certainly look very similar. Keep an eye on the classifieds section, ebay and also the Saab owners club website adverts.

Cheers,
Neel.

Yes, the rear couch isn't compatible between CS and CD. The CD seats aren't designed to restraint what's in the trunk in case of frontal crash either, so it's a safety issue here too.
For the fornt seats, the only problems would be electric movements and seat bucklets (they are not all the same, my '87 seat belts didn't fitted the '90 buclets that came with the '90 seats I had bought. So did the couch backrest, the mounting tabs weren't the same, but with some time and skills (I missed both
) they couls have fit.)

I'd disagree. The seat back from my previous '92 CD was made of thick steel plate, and bolted into the car at all four corners. No fear of anything getting through that in a crash! Oddly enough though, the rear seat cushion that you sit on was hinged and would fold forwards just like in the CS, although all in one piece, unlike in the CS.

Have you looked at the other thread at the moment asking about Aero seats?

cheers,

Ben.

[/qb][/b][/quote]Humm, seems you have more direct experience on CDs than me. I red on a post on some board some time ago there was a something like a bar, wich run behind the backrest, bolted to the car's frame, wich assured the needed strength. Installind CD seats in a CS would have ment not fit the bar, hence the loss in safety. If oyu say that the backrest is bolted itself to the frame, I stand corrected.
