Hi - Newbie here!

I've recently bought a 2001 Saab 9-3 2.2 TiD.
Who's best to insure with for?
I'm 35, FUll NCB etc . . .

Can anyone recommend anyone - is it worth joining the owners club for the discount?

Cheers
Rob

PS: I did a search but couldn't find any recent recommendations.

Welcome! :)

Any tuning done?

Any intention to tune it up or modify it?

If there's any modification you would be best going to one of the specialists, although they are getting fewer.

If standard, then the online people are as good as any - gocompare/tesco etc. plus the ones that stay separate -direct line/aviva. Some are doing introductory discounts for new members.

My car is modified and I'm with Chris Knott, but there are rumours that they are't doing mods now, although thy took my wife's car on recently which is also modified.

Adrian Flux/LV/Admiral etc Petr Best from the SOC pages.

Lots out there and never any one that is consistently cheapest.

Try Elephant.co.uk part of the huge Admiral Group but consistantly cheap.

My son is 23 and drives a rare Honda Civic Vti -s. Only 200 made and he has zero no claims. Hi group and yet £895 fully comp.

Works well adding wife / female partner or your mum!

Son on Friday had woman pull out of a drive and smash him sideways. Door and rear panle pushed right in 6" and sill bent and roof raised.

Admiral took over claim and because of rarity have offered him £3250 - he paid £2950 1 month ago. They said cheapest they could find on internet was £3450 slightly less miles. I reckon they've dealt with it well.....................

Thanks Jim - I'll definitely try Elephant.

I'm currently with Sabre through Swinton - I won't be insuring with them again!

I spoke to SaabInsurance today through the 0800 number on the owners club website. They were really cool - took all my details, gave me a rough idea then "but we don't want to give you that..."

They told me to go get the best quote I could and then come back and they would beat it.
Super professional - I worked in insurance for a fair few years and I would rather deal with them than any backstreet insurer... Any idea who their underwriter is?

Unfortunately, it's usually all about your postcode. I'm in Manchester and I got a quote from gocompare for a different car (Volvo S40 T5) at £750 fully comp. FULL NCB, no points etc, 42yrs old. The same car insured at a friend's house 8 miles away (in a Warrington postcode) was £320.....

Currently paying £780 for 01 9-3 SEt with Abbott stage 1 remap (220bhp)
