The old 1991 N/A 2.0 9000 idles very poorly when cold and not much better when warm!

She's done 100k and has no real evidence of a recent service. I'm going to treat her and do the full works. Anyway, do you think some Redex Injector cleaner would help or not? Could it have further consequences?

Apart from Elkparts is there anywhere cheaper where I can get all the service items?

Perhaps - if you have injectors. Usual culprits are the small bore vacuum hoses (very cheap and quick to replace - some will fall apart in your hands as you dismantle them) and the IAC - the idle air control valve. Look to the front of the throttle body - about the size of a very fat cigar, with electrical connection on your left (looking to the rear of the car), a hose to the right and a hose going away from you to the throttle body. A good dousing in carb cleaner and a check that the valve rotates (don't force it) solves many idle problems.
