I'm happy now!

The 9000 has been booked into ATS Den Haag ( http://www.atsdenhaag.nl/ ) to have it's automatic transmission rebuilt and strengthened to cope with the extra torque the car now has.

Whoo hoo.. work will be completed at the end of the first week in August... so this is the car thats going to the Ring with me in September.

Tja. En daar dacht ik dat ik misschien het gelukkige bericht te lezen zou hebben over de geboorte van een nieuwe SAABer.
Hoe zit dat ermee dan Mark_A? Heb ik de aankomst van de struisvogel gemist?

Okay, I speak German (ein bischen) but that helps me not at all! Anyway I envy you guys who are going to the ring. Even if I could make it I don't think I'll be shipping the 9k. If I were that rich I'd just buy a car when I got there

Sorry.. for the rest of the planet :

Stanley thought I had a better and nicer announcement than the fact I was getting my car repaired... he thought my wife had in-fact already been visited by the Stork.

However, she's +3 days over the expected date now... so it looks like the Stork has taken a breather somewhere....

"Wij zijn in verwachting..." - We are still in expectation

Good Luck!! They're worth it in the end. Ours are both working and off our hands - in theory

When first son was born I was in the hospital waiting. Went to make a cup of coffee and found that the other man there was about 50 years old.

I said. "It's our first, I don't suppose it's yours".
He said. "It's not mine. It's my daughter's and when I catch the ******* I'll kill him!"

Oooh. Didn't know you could get this done. How much, what do they do, what kind of guarantees, ny UK dealers, etc?

P. (who wasn't, until this point , considering doing anything else to the engine of my auto because of concerns over the auto...)

Thanks chuck  I've already got him one of those little reversible cuddly blue 9-5 Wagons that reverses into a moose    [/b]
Any idea where I could get one of those moose toys? My daughter's looking over my shoulder [although she should be in bed at this time!!] and thinks they are gorgeous. Mind you, I'm not averse to owning one either!!

Congratulations on your imminent arrival. I've 3 sprogs [Daughter 12, and two sons, 11 and 6] all of whom I love very dearly all of the time, but could quite happily leave them behind for a trip to the Ring. Oh well, maybe next year, once the decorating is done, so says she who must be obeyed.

The moose can be bought at any saab dealer.. or indeed at elkparts ... http://www.elkparts.co.uk

I'm having it done at a transmission specialist, because the 9000's transmission failed due to the clutch pack going fut.

So during the transmission rebuild, they will fit an extra clutch to help cope with the load... and an offboard tranmission fluid cooler.. not expensive to add, when considering the rebuild.

Thanks for the link Kommando, and welcome to Saabscene. I'm a relative newcomer myself but I already know that there are a lot of people here ready, willing and very able to help on all things SAAB. Happy
