We all bang on about the good bits, but what are the top niggles ?

The only one I have really is:

Headlights, and I wish someone made a replacement upgraded assembly. I've already fitted brighter bulbs but that doesn't improve throw and focus.

Any other pet hates?

re steering wheel height, why not raise the seat and where elton john platform boots. I do (not!!!!)

Agree wheel hides the turbo dial on the Carly but doesn't that wheel feel great. I wish my AERO had a sportier wheel (buy I won't changeit for non standard)

Yup..I agree the lack of up/down movement of the steering column, plus lack of variable intermittent wipers, the water running off the tailgate when opened, and lack of space for a decent clutch foot rest as in the 9-5...that's about it really.
I don't have a real gripe about the headlights, they are an improvement (after brighter bulbs fitted) over my old 900!

i have a 1990 9000s and i find the lights ok. i also find the in/out adjustment fine on the steering, when coupled with seat adjustments you can get comfy driving position. you should drive some cars with little or no variables.

>>plus lack of variable intermittent wipersAeropilot - check out the Elk website: They sell a replacement wiper relay that provides variable intermittent. It is an part specified for 'VW' cars, but fitts the Saab and apparently works a treat!

My niggles...
Auto Climate Control (ACC)!!! The dealers recon it is a must have. But it is far from perfect (I could list a whole raft of flaws with the set up!!), whereas I could set the older manual controls with Air Conditioning (AC) to exactly right with just a few twiddles!

For example:
- No indication of fan speed on panel!
- No indication of whether Air con is on or off (in Auto mode)!
- Default is to blow cold air on screen (and your face) after a few seconds from start in the depth of winter..
- Set temp blows colder air with ACC on Auto than it does in'Econ' mode (e.g. with air con off).
etc, etc.

And now the rear door fans have stuck on - and Saab quote £1000 to replace the ACC panel!!!!!!!!!

Still planning on tampering with the relays in the ACC panel sometime though.

Otherwise, would be nice if Autobox had a 'sport' Economy' mode switch. Apart from that it's a dream!

Niggle..?
Power = wheelspin.
Power + Traction control = no wheelspin.
Power + Trouble-free for life Traction control = no more niggle...( havent got TCS,as you may have guessed ).

1. Inaccessibility for specialist repairers, but comes with the territory.
2. Thirsty
3. Wanders at high speed; no rail-tracking for this machine.
4. Air con underpowered for our climate in summers.
5. Not great for parking garages with tight corners.
6. Lack of intermittent wiper facility, and the wipe before spraying phenomenon.

Otherwise safe, fast, comfortable (the best seats I've had), ergonomically sound and easy on the open road. Remain astounded by the way the bumpers reform in minutes after horrible impacts!

Mine ??

- Drivers seat is too high, even at it's lowest setting. I think this was fitted by the original owner as a bespoke option (it's electric).
- No drive to the rear wheels
- Vague steering, probably due to age though :/
- Expensive to repair!

The biggest gripe of all is that I couldn't have it when it was brand new. I was 17 and doing my A-levels
