Hi Chaps

I have a 1992 CSE 2.3 Turbo, and it has started to burn oil, 2 to 3 seconds after she has start up (when warm). I have replaced the valve stem seals, head gasket and piston rings, so I am pretty sure it is the turbo.
What I would like to know, is what sort of hybrid turbos are availible to me. And where is the best place to buy one.

try geeting in touch with turbo-technics, they helped me out with a hybrid garrett turbo.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is meant by a "Hybrid" turbo? I though Hybrid's were normally aspirated cars which had after-market turbo conversions.

Does anybody have any informative links?

A hybrid turbo is when you take one half of the normal turbo and match a larger impeller on the turbine side, thus giving higher boost but a bit more lag.
They also put better seals and bearings where applicable so that they run smoother and then they balance the whole lot very accurately so that it spins better.

I had one on my 2L 9k and it was .. well mental!

Ah-ha, now I understand. I have read about so-called "stage 2/3" turbo upgrades which use this principal. Probably more suited to high revving Jap rockets than torquey Saabs I woulda thought, but what do i know eh
