After the Scottish weekend away, it was commented on how fast my 9000 was for a n/a, so when we were up at the track for some parts for my pal's cart i tried the timing equipment out and got these figures.
0 -60 in 9.3 and 1/4 mile in 16.7, as i have never seen figures for a n/a is this ok for one, as for a 200,000 mile engine i did not think this was bad, ok nothing compared with a the turbo's, but ok for a non turbo.

Once they're rolling they can keep up with the big boys.. Injectie's 9000 2.3 produces around 160hp.. and has been known to cruse at 230KM/H... and his is an auto !

Hi,

our Heuschmid 9000 is a 2.3 NA with sports exhaust. It is quite quick, but the speedo ends at 210 kmh, and it needs some time to get there - I doubt it would get to 230 kmh ... and it is a manual.

Philip

1/4 mile in 16.7[/b]
That's a cracking time, and nothing to be ashamed of in relation to turbos of any spec.

I drove a 2.0i for 5 years, and still drive my wife's 2.0i regularly, and for 'slow, base model' cars, they're a bag of laughs and will cover ground very quickly and confidently, as my father-in-law commented after having to work harder than he expected to, following me (driving my old CC 2.0i) in his 9-5 2.3 SE one day.

Yep it's weird. Injectie's auto revs very highly.. and just keeps pulling off the speedo.. he genuinely was keeping up with the turbos on the last couple of meets. Not in acceleration.. but on the higher speeds.

He only kept up when we were holding back from top speed. My 135 hp US spec Ford Escort could do 230 kph. But yes, Injectie's car was still a bit faster than I guessed it would be.

I very much doubt if mine could do that speed, i have had it up at 123 mph but my need of my license made me back off but i don't think it would have gone much quicker.

Are you sure about 16.7 for the 1/4 mile? That sounds way too quick. I don't think my Elise does it in less than that and it has 150bhp & is half the weight?

My old N/A C900 got about 16.5 in the 1/4 mile ... it had headers intake and exhaust. But it wasn't a terribly quick car. The 9K might be a bit better in that regards. I believe it's a 2.3 vs the 2.1 in the C900.

Using an AP22 meter I got a 16. something a while back on my '97 Aero. I can't find the results at the moment but I have them somewhere.

Did you get a 0-60 reading etc as well?
