Have just taken my 1993 9000 CDE 2.0i for its MOT. All ok except for emissions - CO level far too high. Any ideas of what could be the most likely cause of this?
Has it got a catalyst fitted? If so it could need replacing - expensive. Could be worth changing the lambda sensor first (about £30 from Euro Car Parts). Is there any signs of misfires? If so DI pack or plugs could be at fault. Also check compression is OK. Let us know how you get on
took car to local Saab dealer. They cleaned up throttle housing, AIC valve and air flow meter connections. CO level down to 0.01% all for £28!!! Excellent news because I was expecting a large bill.
