Hi,
I am picking up my Saab 9000 CS turbo sometime next week. Never even thought of getting one of these but found the Luxury was to good to miss out on.

So what can I do to it to improve performance, handling etc. And I love touring car looks, so is there anything I can do to get that sort of look from it.

Anyway, thats it... As for me. I have had the following cars previously.
1.1c metro
2x 1.4 Gta Rover 100's. ( Both modified)
214 Rover.
200sx Nissan.
Mg metro turbo
Mg Metro turbo (track car)
Escort TD.

Not bad for a new driver who has only had her licence a year.

I am a student and a mother. Hence needing a bigger car than my mettys. I do enjoy track days but will keep my MG metro for that as its stripped out, kill switch and cheap to repair( unless I kill the gearbox).

I am hoping this Saab will be fun for me to drive but more refined. And obviously the fact that they have a bit more bhp than my metro is an obvious plus point.

All I know is... its a N reg, 9000CS. 110k full history and mint inside and out. I sort of loved the car when I saw it, which is kinda how I end up with all my cars.

I either love cars or hate them.

Thats about all I know till I go back monday. But there is a 2nd car the same age and similar spec in too. ( Its a mates garage)

You'll find lots of posting about performance and handling improvements. Try looking at the current "£1000" thread

Cheers.
I am hoping that I should be able to look like a nice little women, in my mummy car, but be able to upset the people who think they can sneak up the inside.

I have been warned that launching off the lights is going to be more difficult though than I am used too. Which is something I will have to work on. I don't often blitz it off the lights but sometimes its a needs must thing.

Welcome to the board Ms GTa. I had a CS 9000 when our two boys were very small - the perfect car for young kids. Loads of space, very safe, and a wee bit of power too.

Yours is most likely to be a 2.0 Light Pressure Turbo (150BHP) which can easily be tweaked to just under 200BHP. If it is a 2.3 it'd be 170BHP in LPT form, or 200BHP in FPT form (though not sure if they did full pressure 2.3 CS's that weren't Aero's / Anniversary's).

Anyway, as it is a Turbo, you can definately get the power upped without too much trouble - there's also a lot you can do on the suspension / handling side, to get away from the big wallowy barge effect!

Let us know how you get on when you get the car (and confirm if it's a 2.0 or 2.3).

but be able to upset the people who think they can sneak up the inside.[/b]
You'll have plenty of fun with the above too

Standard equipment - electric windows x4, remote central locking, ABS, heated seats(not sure on this but all 3 of my 9000's had heated seats).

Power will be 150BHP - relatively slow off the mark (just less than 10secs to 60mph) though mid range will be swift rather than neck breaking. Enough to see off a lot of standard rep fare. ECU can be upgraded to 192BHP for around £400 (I will be corrected if I'm wrong), though relatively modest amounts spent on suspension can transform the handling of the car.
