Can I can substitute the early upper heater hose (7554025) for the 2.3 part (4876371)? I just need the cylinder head end to splice into the existing hose....

I can't seem to find the proper hose except at dealers for £45......The 2.3 part is only £13

Just a thought. Have you tried the likes of Euro car parts online. I have purchased some hoses from them in the past. A damn sight cheaper than dealer prices

Splicing sounds risky, could leave you stranded in the dark on the A38 in September for 2 and a half hours.

I would suggest tring places like elkparts, two stroke etc, or try getting hold of a second hand part. Wouldn't have expected them to be so expensive. These places are also much more helpful over the phone than their websites are, so try calling!
