Hi everyone and a Happy New Year.
My car is a 9000 CSE 2.0i ACC 1995
Heater problems again. Fan controller unit failed two months ago (fans on full, all the time)and I cured it with a good secondhand one. Over christmas/new year I noticed much condensation on the windscreen, this may not be related. Now I have no fans, no heating, and of course now the weather gets frosty....typical eh! The ACC unit still wants to work, but will not bring in the fans. There is power to the fan, I have banged it (and also told it it has no father), I have tried to bypass the controller unit, but this blew the fuse. Any help, ideas etc. much appreciated.

No idea if this is the same problem - but my Carlsson's heater fan didn't work at all when I first bought the car - my local specialist drilled a small hole into the motor, blasted all of the gunk with high pressure air - then it worked fine!

On an older 9000 the screen was all misted up, though the fan worked okay - this turned out to be the Heater Matrix which was replaced.

Hope you get it sorted cheaply!

Just a quick update......
West Midlands Saab Specialists have saved the day in this recent brass monkey weather. The problem has been diagnosed, will be cured next week, complete with a loan car......fantastic! I arrived at the garage freezing, returned home with heat, a few more grey hairs from the worry of the size of the bill, but it will be considerably less than I was expecting.

Fellow West Midlands saabers I can thoroughly recommend this new company. Their e-mail address is [email protected]
