I got some new Philips Vision plus bulbs from a supplier yesterday and what a difference they make.
I would not say they are 50% brighter or that they extended the reach by 20 meters as advertised, but they are alot brighter then the standard bulbs. They probably give a 5-10 meter extra reach, but that light area is now alot brighter and it gives a fuller light if that makes sense !

Thirded, I think.

I believe these bulbs are known as SilverStar in the US (at least). I just replaced the standard capsules with SilverStar capsules, and the difference is notable. Much whiter light. Not sure about distance, but in the lit range, visibility is better.

Just for info:

Sliverstar's in the UK are make by Osram,
Vision Plus and Silver Vision are made by Philips, confusing I know!

I have had great success in my 9000 and my VR-4 with Philips Vision Plus H7, Osram Super H1

But the best performance I've experienced in my VR-4 are Philips Vison Plus 4000K. Apparently they are the closest to natural daylight, without going to the expense of having to try and fit gas discharge headlamps.
