My 9000i has 135k on the clock and the handling is somewhat floaty.

Should I head straight off down the route of springs & dampers, or would I be better off changing the bushing first. If so, can a muppet mechanic (me!) do this without it taking an entire weekend per bush, or should I pay someone to do it.

If it's best to leave it to a mechanic, who can anyone recommend in the Watford area?

Hi LBC,

Bushes will help but if it's done some miles (as it has - mines done 140K) you will probably need to replace the spings and dampers.
Take a look at elk parts - they've got boge springs and dampers (lowered) also my next stop!
As far as doing the job - some of the bushes are a bit tough and it can help if youv'e got a helping hand.
But It's not a really technical job tho.!!
