Hi, folks!

I just bought my third Saab, this one a 2006 9-3 Aero convertible. It's a bit high on miles, but in geat shape overall and priced WAY below book. I'd like to spruce it up a bit, and there are a couple things i'm looking to do as soon as possible...

The big one is the condition of the soft top. There are wear patterns from the car wash or folding or whatever, where the fabric has a kind of shine to it. it's very visible in the right light. Any ideas for minimizing the visibility of this? Is Renovo just a way to mess up a fabric top?Would Autoglym do the job?

The other thing is the steering wheel. The leather is worn all around and is separating from the wheel from 7 to 10 o'clock. Of course the Aero wheel has those silver trim pieces. Removing those wiuld make re-covering the wheel simpler. Has anyone ever figured out how to remove and reinstall those trim pieces without breaking them? My plan B is a non Aero wheel that ciuld be re-covered more easily. I'm not a big fan of the silver frip trim anyway.

Hope to see you out on GA 400 this summer!

hi and welcome

with your roof give car/roof a good wash to remove surface dirt then you could clean the roof with a dilution of vinigar and water to remove inground dirt then apply a good vinyl polish/protector autoglym or the like ...........remember preperation is the key for a nice looking job. This is what ny father inlaw does on his and it comes up as new. if your roof as faded you can use a pigmented vinyl restorer.

could you not take steering wheel to a leather specialist and have him recover it / dont they just clip off ?

be a mirical if you see me on GA 400 unless im totaly lost LOL;)
