I've owned many Saabs and currently have a '07 9-3 2.0T and a Sonett. I am thinking about selling the 9-3 and picking up a low mileage (100k) '96 9000CSE. I think the CSE has the smaller turbo and is the 192HP motor. In any case, I just was looking for some input on whether this might be a good swap, or if this is something that I would regret. I've had a 2.3 motor in previous 9-5s but I think this is sufficiently different to be apples and oranges.
I would appreciate any feedback!

Hi, I owned a 1994 CSE for 11 years and it was a really great car to drive - the lower power turbo gave 150bhp; while not that quick off the blocks it was really fast overtaking etc and held the road like glue. On the motorway it was effortless to sit at 70 mph on cruise and gave between 40 - 45 mpg. Well designed and very well equipped it could carry a huge load - I have had single beds, a chest freezer, 4 seater settee in it to name but a few. I had to scrap it with only 94000 miles because of structural corrosion resulting in an MOT fail. According to my local SAAB specialist, it needed very specialist welding and was something they could not do. I would definitely get another one of these wonderful machines if the opportunity arose, but alas they are very rare. This was my 6th SAAB having owned a 96, 99 and 3 x 900s - it was far and away the best.
