On my 9-3 MY'99 the glove box light is NEVER OFF, even when the key is out of the ignition. Is this right? Anyone had same problem. I came across it when I noticed the light didn't come on, so I opened it up to replace bulb, but it was just dislodged and sprung contact was forced down to make no contact - purposely?

And yes I checked to see if there is a contct on the glovebox door - No.

On my 9-3 '01 the glove box light works without key in ignition, but does go off fractionally before door is closed. From what I could tell, it looks like the contact switch may be in the hinge area on the right hand side of box?
