Okay, so not the most exciting topic, but please bear with me!

I'm trying to get hold of a new leather gear knob for my 9000 2.0 turbo SE (1990). I have just tried ordering one from Robert Bowett Saab who are advertising a special deal in the SOC magazine this month. The gearknob they have is claimed to be for pre 92 9000s, but their technician says it won't fit and I need a 85-90 gearknob for my car (which is out of stock). Can anyone tell me if this is correct??? What is the difference? My dad's 92 CS one looks the same from the outside?

Any help much appreciated! I'm sick of my frilly gearknob! Cheers.

I'm not sure about the year, but when you get it look at my procedure on BillJ's site. It shows how to remove it. It is very easy, and not at all like it shows in the instructions.

you can just slip a flat head screwdriver (or two) up inside the old one and it should just slip straight off!
