I have a '94 9000 Aero manual and the fuel pressure cut out seems to be operating a bit too keenly. When I first got the car it would only really cut in (with the characteristic sudden loss of power followed by immediate return to normal service) when accelerating really hard up a hill in third gear. Recently it seems to cut in much more easily, mostly when accelerating onto a motorway in 3rd gear from around 50 to 70 mph.
How does the pressure cut out operate and what faults could cause it to cut in more often than it should ?
The car is unmodified from the factory with 115000 miles on it.
