I am trying to replace the metal fuel lines that run under the chassis from front to back and I am having difficulty with the couplings.
At the fuel tank end, there is a flexible pipe with a male coupling on the end. This fits into a tapering female coupling, about 3cms long which fits onto the metal fuel pipe which goes to the front of the car.
Does anyone know the correct specifications for this female coupling, ie length of screw thread, gauge of screw thread.
I am trying to order a ready made up pipe and they need the info, but I am reluctant to unscrew the coupling to see, in case it destroys the pipe in the process.
Any help would be appreciated- thank you in advance. Oh yes, it's a 1989 2L Turbo hatch.
