My fuel gauge is reading high all the time.Where does the signal come from to actuate the gauge, is it a conventional float system??.

not sure if same as 900, but there is a seperate tube unit in the tank, about 6ins long, this might be stuck or has failed,and just gives the one reading,remove from tank and turn upside down and back again will here if mechanism is sliding inside,if ok, put back in tank and recheck, might do the trick
