Took the Carlsson into work this afternoon, as it has been languishing in the garage for almost 2 weeks.

Enjoyed the drive into work immensely. The car certainly has no problems regarding power and performance I never seem to come up against decent opposition when I'm driving the Carly, just lesser mortals. One of today's victims was a Senior Citizen in a Y reg Clio! He was giving it some in first from the lights, so I let rip in second and slaughtered the poor chap

Also left it in second (totally unecessarily ) to get past a tractor - Oooo - I'll miss that torque steer TCS came in on that overtake - still working, touch wood...

Still get looks from people who are obviously surprised that a Saab is so fast!

Despite its faults, someone is going to get an awesome car for bugger all money.

These Carlssons are just so much value for money - where else can you get so much power and fun for so little money?

I could keep the car - anyone got any very cheap lodgings?

Miles? 160,800
Owners? I'm number 7!
History? Not Stamped though I have the invoices since new (over an inch thick!) Mostly Saab/Saab Specialist with the exception of the previous owner. THink it's on it's third Saab gearbox!
Faults?
Major (possibly) one is the TCS/ABS light which comes on on starting and doesn't go off unless you restart the car (reset the TCS?) Then functions fine. Is booked in to get this sorted.
Interior fan motor has gone - though Air Con does work.
Cruise works.
Elec sunroof and all windows / mirrors work.
Think bulbs have gone on computer display - will ask Ken to have a look.
Tyres? Sure these have got plenty of tread left (think they were new at the MOT when I got the car - though I've only done 1500 miles since then).
MoT? Only about 3 months, though I'll get it MOT'd before selling. Can't see it failing as it had a major brake overhaul / new tyres around that last MOT.

I've had a major service on the car at a Saab Specialist, can't remember when, though I've only done 1500 miles in total so it's less than that.

Tax is to end July.

I don't want to sell, but can't afford new insurance / tax premiums

Not sure for definate, but it'll be in the £2k's. I've seen 120,000 mile Carly's up for over £3k, so I may try mine at a higher price in the Autotrader first of all. I'll get an ad in the classifieds once the TCS is sorted...

A little outing for the Carly last night. I will miss being able to screech in 2nd gear in the dry

I was trying to entice a victim out onto a fast bit of road - Fiesta or something up my [expletive deleted] in built up areas as I stuck to 30mph. Wanted to get him out onto the ring road where I could floor it and show him who's boss but he turned the other way at the last moment. Most inconsiderate! Had my fun anyway - boost actually got about three quarters across the red. Super Smashing Great..

I quote from the mouth of the proud owner of a classy bit of automobile, a cut above your boy racer:

" I was trying to entice a victim out onto a fast bit of road".

Tut Tut young man.

Great fun all the same - or so I've been told, as I dont do that sort of thing ( well maybe on a Sunday afternoon in Bedfordshire) .

Andy.
