Hi everyone.

The temperature gauge on my 2001 2.0t convertible seldom gets above 1/4 high and the engine management light is constantly on.
The guy who MOTd the car said I need a new temperature sensor and it's an easy DIY fix.
I cannot find a compatible sensor online (all seem to be for newer models) so can anyone recommend a retailer or a link.
Plus, can someone tell me where it's located on the engine.

Many thanks

Tully

Can't help with the retailers but this will get you in the general area. It's got a good size hex nut on it and it goes into the head near thermostat

Thanks Crawdad- When we use it, it still throws good heat into the cabin so this'll be a job for the weekend.

You're welcome, Tully. May I make a suggestion if you intend to do further work on the car - copies of the Saab WIS and EPC are available for free download online. I have both working on Windows 10 and they've been extremely helpful. In fact, I haven't been to a mechanic in many years. Just think, all the money you save can be spent on tools. Ah, tools. Lovely tools.
