After hearing a 'Darth Vader' noise and reduce in boost pressure (from 1.2bar to 0.7bar), many things have crossed my mind, has this broken, has that broken blah-de-blah.

The turbo is fine, all pipework is fine, all vacuum hoses are fine, the problem is that I've blown the intercooler.

I have a replacement intercooler and would like to know the easiest way to fit it, preferably without having to strip the front end of the car off!

I haven't looked in the Haynes manual, but have you looked at dropping the intercooler out through the underside?

Whoop's, having looked at the Haynes manual, the radiator has to come out first.
You may find that the radiator can be moved back enough without removing it, but you may also find that it will require a days work.

Take the water rad out first & drain it. Then it all goes in quite simply from the top.
Just don't use too much welly on the aircon pipes!

hi fellas just nosing in and was wondering what "welly" is. i may be removing my radiator soon and would hate to use too much and wreck something. thanks tim
