Hi all. Smelt a funny sort of very slight burning smell, like a clutch type burn smell but of course it’s an automatic so can’t be that

and looked under the bonnet to find this sitting on top of the gearbox area. It was passenger side of engine under the vacumn pump area.
looks like it would have a hose plugged into it maybe?
Any help on what it is would be great thank you.
