Help! Just swopped my 9000CSE for a 2000 9-3SE. Been trawling through the owners manual (as you do), and have found the bit about the Glass Break Sensor. As I wish to sometimes leave the dog in the car, wth the windows slightly open, I want to try setting the alarm to "Door Alarm Only". I have tried holding down the Night Panel, with no key in the ignition, but nothing comes up on the SID. All advice greatfully received.

IIRC this is the procedure:

1. turn off engine. do not remove ignition key.
2. hold down NIGHT PANEL button until a message is shown advising deactivation of that part of the alarm
3. remove key from ignition.
4. lock car within 2 minutes.

Now, that lot is from memory and it could be wrong. I shall try and look up the procedure to clarify it ...unless someone can beat me to it.

This must be done within a specific time after the engine is turned off. Ingition key must be removed before pushing the Night Panel button.
Are you sure that there's alarm system in your car?

He has a 2000 9-3SE. Yes, it will have an alarm system. They all do on the UK market.

Thanks for replies folks. I think my problem was that I was trying this out after the car had been switched off for some time. I note that chinese120 mentioned a time limit. Problem now solved.
