Cracked Windscreen + TPFT Insurance = £££!!
Am looking to gather some experiences of windscreen replacement after my 1990 9000T windscreen cracked on friday. Initially I thought I was covered under my insurance, but it appears that I was confused by some very crafty wording!
I have had numerous quotes now from various places, ranging from National Windscreens (£155+VAT), £235+VAT from RAC, and £423inc VAT from Autoglass. Most saab dealers now seem to refer me to windscreen centres, as they nolonger stock the parts.
I'm a touch confused about the issues of original spec glass and trim against generic items. Can anyone offer me advice about this or experiences of the above companies. I am especially intrigued by National Windscreens who seem to be by far the cheapest....has anyone ever had a screen from them??
Thanks in advance for your help and comments!!
Andy.
