Have just done a couple of 60 - 0 stops with the AP-22 to compare the Goodyear Eagle F1/Brembo/DS2500 combination with the Yokohama 579/Abbott/Mintex1144 set up of last year...

Didn't do as many stops as last year, but the first two offer plenty of info for 'normal' road use.

A ten foot difference in stopping from cold can't be sniffed at, could be the diff' between a claim and a scare.

The bite is far more inspiring now as well , better than any 9000 I've owned before in my humble opinion.

As for the resistance to fade, well I'll get around to it a bit later on, but I would say they might get better with more heat before they get worse.

Nick.

Awesome stopping power there. I think the Viggen is only rated at 125 feet or so. (That was the R&T issue for the '99 MY, the '02 being heavier is probably a lil slower) So at the very worst you're still ahead of me by at LEAST a few feet. And the Viggen does have big brakes.

Since new though, at now 27,000+ miles the brakes have developed a lip on them. However, rather that replace them straight out and get another lip in 20K miles, we got www.brakeworld.com to take some new factory rotors and cross drill them. (It took them 8 hours to make the pattern in their machine because the slots on the factory rotors are not symmetrical between the two sides!
) Combine that with a different pad and hopefully the reduced heat will keep them from lipping or warping in the future! I should be getting the rotors in a day or two so I'll make sure to take pics. The pads are SP performance Street + ... Graphite, Kevlar, metallic blend. Not too expensive either, only $59 a set for the front. Rotors (including the purchase of a new factory set) were only $370 for the front. When I do the rears they have a nice set of Brembo cross drilled and slotted ones for roughly the same price.

Anyway ... I talk too much! Sorry.
Oh I also got some Kumho Ecsta MX's. They look awesome. Will make sure to take pictures of those when I have them mounted. Keep on Saabin'!!
