This seems to be getting common,
Last 2 nights engine has been very ticky when starting up after my backshift, cold outside -2.
Drove home (2miles) ticking still their, from inside it sounds like a relay, went outside only sound seemed to be from the belt, I think i need new tensioner as when changing belt i was able to compress by just pushing down on belt.Got back in car and ticking gone. The main reason I am asking as their have been a few threads on tappets.
The car is getting a new headgasket with 2 weeks, also some nice full syn oil, so it is just while i have this off should i be looking for anything else ? 94 2.0cse eco 85,500 miles
