hi all
my clutch has just started to slip, under max load in third. car. 9000 2.0 lpt maptun stage 3
265 bhp 370nm. i have been informed that a 2.3t clutch plate could solve the problem, or is there a better route to go.

With all that power from your 2.0lpt I would go for something like the AP Racing Cerametalic Paddle Clutch, it's on my list when my standard clutch gives up.

I wouldn't go for the AP paddle if you don't have to- and at 370NM/270lbft, you don't need to.

The standard clutch, if OK, will cope with 410NM/300lbft.

I've got the paddle clutch myself 'cos at circa 350lbft+ there's no way a standard one would hold.

It does the job ie it doesn't slip, but is very brutal and hard to drive smoothly in stop start traffic. Also, after some miles, it is becoming noisy and harsh on downchanges. I understand this is due to the fact that they chew up the flywheel.

I've just had a new stock clutch fitted (when the gearbox was rebuilt in June) and it's fine with the bhp levels I've got.
