On my 94 2.0i, when I start the day,the climate panel always defaults to Auto so it gets switched to Econ straight away. On my 2.0 LPT 94 it defaults to Econ every time. Was the design changed or has one of my cars developed the ability to think?

Neither. The ACC panel defaults are user programmable by the driver. You simply set up everything as you want: Econ, fan speed, vent (legs or windshield or both), temperature. Once the setting is running as wanted press and hold the defrost and side panel buttons (2 horizontal arrows) simultaneously untill the ACC display will flash. Turn the ignition off for at least 30 seconds, restart and test it. It will now always start in your preferred settings. ( This info is in the owners manual). Cheers.

Thanks for that Leon. The description you give is much better than the one in the UK manual (which I have tried to follow but never got to work). You must get a better one in Canada.
