I havent got round to checking the gearbox level yet. Car has 114K now and had 86K when I bought it with FSSH. Does the level drop much assuming no leaks and what sort of oil should be used for top ups? Whats the easiest way to remove the plug to check the level?

The propper way to check the level is to take out the bung half way up the diff housing accessible after taking the n/s/f wheel off, the easiest way is to drain the box and measure it or better still re-fill with the latest SAAB synthetic g/box oil comes in litre bottles capacity of your box is 2 litres fill from the top just under the battery
