You probably know me very well by now, and the saga i have been having with my Carlsson. To cut along story short the 'specialist' that has my car wants £500 to supply and fit a 2nd hand ABS pump. I know this is too much for a 2nd hand one. Haagstrom Saab kindly sent me a pump for £70 but it was unfortuneatly the wrong one (it was off a 91 model). I have called in excess of 15 places now, and have been told that i can't get the guaranteed correct part unless i have the part number - i have given the chassis number but they do need the part number. According to the garage, my ABS pump has not got a part number. Apparently they are painted/stuck on and my one has come off. So, i am in a bit of a predicament, as the garage are harassing me to hurry up so they can get the job done, but i refuse to pay £500 when i know i can get the part a hell of a lot cheaper! Does anyone know the part number, or suggest a way of me finding out? Once again i appreciate all your help, dunno what i'd without you lot!

Thanks

Alan

S O R T E D! With my mild persuasion powers i have negotiated £250 with the specialist to supply & fit the ABS pump. They wanted £500 originally, shows how much profit margin is involved! I didbn't want to do it through them becasue of the price, but since they have reduced it by 50% i can't complain! Who said haggling was dead?
