Hi,

I'm really miffed on this but when the wife brakes suddenly and the car comes to a stop it stalls on her, whereas i try not to stop as sudden as she does...

What could be causing the car to stall?

Recently changed turbo (full sump clean so engine service & sparks changed), a New battery fitted & replace the throttlebody (2nds but working).

Could it be the DI?

Any imput would be highly appreciated.
thanks

I have this. Not frequent, but the circs as you describe are enough to provoke it - a typical instance would be coming off the m-way and braking hard at the top of a slip road for a roundabout. I assume it's not CPS since it always starts again fine, whereas failing CPS - as I understand it - creates hot-start difficulties. It bugs me since I'm always meticulous about simmering the turbo after a run, so stalling after hard driving is a breach of my protocol...

I mentioned it to the dealer at the last service and something was done in terms of a software upgrade. I thought for a while it made it better but it does still happen occasionally. I try to drive around it by driving more like you and less like your wife - :) - but I'm interested to know if there's an obvious explanation.
