Had the Aero for a couple of months now, enjoying being back in a Saab after 5 years in Alfas.

I bought the car (2001 51 plate with 112K and FSH) from a dealer in Farnborough. Paid the princely sum of £1750, including a service, new front tyres, new front discs and pads and a new drivers seat motor!
Since then I have changed the rear discs and pads, changed the recirc valve (Maptun alloy one), silicone pipes and checked all the oil breather pipes.

A few tweaks to the body; new NSF door trim, new bonnet badge, prancing moose stickers and a full detail!

Leather is in stunning condition. After a good clean and treatment with Autoglym Leather Conditioner it has come up like new. Have used the bum warmers more and more.

Great power, bonkers torque steer. A steering clamp is in the offing, once I have dropped the sump and hopefully given myself peace of mind.

Here are a few photos, taken after the first clean. Washed/dried/clayed/waxed/SRP.

Hope you like!

There are a few plans afoot. Stainless steel exhaust and sports back box (custom made), rear wheels refurbed, steering clamp, sump drop and a possible lowering.
Value for money, solidity, power, comfort. It has them all.

Looking good there Wynne,

Have you ever used a buffer before? I have a DAS 6 Pro which is still brand new can't wait to get it on the car but it's find the time, a place to do it, or where there's two days of ok weather.

I've had 14 people PM me to say "Jezz, PLEASE don't enter the car of the month competition or we'll have no chance at all of winning", so I might be the bigger person and let you lot have half a chance.

Re torque steer as mentioned by wynne, I get none worth a mention from my Aero 210bhp.

I am gonna save my car from the first few months of COTW so i stand a better chance!

That comes from having a different chassis than Wynne's car, yours is two generations of Vectra newer than the 900/9-3 hatch. GM do learn, albeit slowly.

Was about to post the same jezz, can't really compare my suspension set up with that of the 9-3SS. Thankfully there was some development in that department from Saab!

the machine.keep moving do not try to clean one spot do the whole panel use safety glass and
overalls slow and easy is best
